Jim Harriott bought his first pharmacy in Kempsey in 1990 which he traded successfully until he sold it in 2000. Looking for a larger challenge Jim then purchased Roy Young Chemist in Chatswood; a large discount pharmacy employing 130 people, with an annual turnover of 18 million dollars. In 2006 Jim opened another Roy Young Chemist in Liverpool.
In 2008 Jim sold Roy Young Chemist, keeping the Liverpool store and converting it into a Priceline. In 2011 Jim was approached to join Rx Management and became the Director of Retail for the group’s 13 stores. In late 2013 Jim stepped back from this role, he still owns 3 pharmacies in the Rx Management group and remains a director. Jim has always had a passion for strategic planning, and has recently started worked with a range of businesses in a consulting capacity. This has included running workshops, developing strategic plans, and assisting with their implementation. Jim has a long history of involvement in community projects and is currently volunteering as a restorer at Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour, and is on the executive of the Support Lindfield Organisation. Jim has been following some of his other interests, these include surfing, touch football, tennis and wood carving. Jim's qualifications include Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Sydney Associate Diploma of Business from University of New England Graduate Diploma in Agriculture from Hawkesbury Agricultural College Strategic Planning and Management in Retailing Program (SPMR03) from the Melbourne Business School |
